Purpose of Job:

To play a pivotal role at the national level for managing and coordinating activities and translate learnings of Tribal TB prevention & care from the districts and states to the national level across, liaise with the various Government departments under the aegis of the Tribal Health Collaborative for the fulfilment of the overall objective, support the government departments particularly Central TB division, Ministry of tribal affairs with the technical support including data intelligence & insights, coordinate with the THC in initiating/ organizing/ participating in national level events on Tribal TB, build capacities of the State and District level teams to engage with respective stake holders, provide strategic input for Communitization , State Capacity Building and Innovations to the key personnel of the project – Chief of Party, Technical Advisor, Research Monitoring Learning Evaluation Lead.

Reporting structure:

Role directly reports to:
Admin/Tech/Functional reporting to State Lead

Positions that report into this role:
Community coordinator

Essential Qualifications:
• MSW /MA Social Work/ M.Sc Graduate/ Post-graduate in relevant field of health and life sciences preferred
• Graduate/Diploma in health and life sciences

Essential Experience:
• At least 4-8 years’ experience in a reputed international/ large non-governmental organization/government organization
• Experience in managing government stake holders at district-level
• Experience in the TB program would be preferable
• Experience in state/district level work desirable

Essential Skills:
• Ability to coordinate with multiple government departments and district level stake holders
• Ability to share knowledge and learnings across varied forums at district/state-level
• Ability to identify best practices and suggest innovations

Additional preference:
• Candidates from tribal communities will be given preference
• TB survivors will be given preference
• Women candidates will be given preference
• Resident of the district (applied for)/willing to re-locate
• Understanding of District Health administration

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

• Oversee the implementation of activities in identified district as per the work plan
• Prepare monthly and quarterly activity and tour plans
• Ensure the activities are executed as per the plan and desired deliverables achieved
• Plan modifications as per relevant district in addition to the overall work plan shared by Central team (Geography, activities, timelines)
• Close coordination with district NTEP and NHM for streamlined provision of TB services (108, NCD, Tobacco Control, HWCs,)
• Ensure availability of services both in Community and health facilities by regular checks and flagging gaps. (optimum distribution of sputum containers , referral formats, lab tech availability, machine functionality, treatment initiation, DBT , Informant Incentive etc)
• Maintain patient wise data of the continuum of care right from enrolment to completion of treatment with the support of Community coordinator.
• Regular feedback to state Tribal TB initiative on the gaps and challenges identified
• Liaison with all relevant stakeholders to:
1. Ensure formation of TB Forums
2. Ensure representation of Tribal Community in TB Forums
3. Ensure representation of TB Champions in TB Forums
4. Coordinate and engage with district level Govt departments for TB awareness and greater involvement (RDPR, SRLM, PDS, WCD, Labour and Welfare, Mines and Industries)
5. Engage with PSUs, Private sector health facilities, Private Companies
6. Encourage/ Advocate for TB sensitization sessions in Statutory Committees
• Oversee the admin/HR/Management of the Community coordinator
• Liaison with local NGOs and CSOs as per need
• Ensure training and quality output from field staff
• Regular recording and reporting as per laid out plan. Monitoring and reporting of data by field staff.
• Regular and real time documentation of best practices, case studies , challenges and other stories and onward sharing
• Support and ensure community engagement activities by community influencers through Community coordinator.
• Support Community coordinator in the training of Community influencers. (Tribal Healers/ PRI/ SHG members/Local leader/Faith leader/ASHA/ Youth)
